Mariela Carter is a certified Pilates instructor and a physical therapist with more than thirty years of experience. She specializes in conditions related to neuro-muscular and orthopedic issues. As a frequent traveler, she suffered from neck and back pain related to the uncomfortable plane seats. She tried to find the best lumbar support for her back to ease the pain from long hours of sitting on a plane, but there was nothing in the market that targeted her needs. Soon after, Mariela started to design a cushion that would provide the optimal lumbar support. She made the first prototypes and tested them with clients that also traveled frequently by plane or by car.
